This weekend, ChannelFireball held a special Grand Prix-like (or lastly known as the MagicFest), large scale paper Magic: The Gathering event at Las Vegas, after the world was locked down almost two years ago. One of the main event formats was Modern, with a $25,000 total prize pool. It was very encouraging to see 1436 keen players registered, despite the tournament not being part of the official Magic: The Gathering organized play structure.
While there was no full coverage for the event, thanks to The MMCast and Corbin Hosler players were able to catch up with the scenes with some text and video coverage as well as the top 8 decklists that you can check out below. Edwin Colleran took the first prize with Rakdos Midrange, defeating Steven Pearlman’s Indomitable Creativity in the finals!
